‘ The Green Man’

A little about ‘The Green Man’ …….

His energy is that of the Abundance of the Earth & Mother Nature … Lord of the Woods, Forrest and all that grows within. He is the very essence of Growth and Fertility. Perhaps not as recognised in Australia as he is in Europe.

There is a very strong cyclic energy to ‘The Green Man’ which is of course the natural flow of life ( birth-death-rebirth ) this is apparent in any forest or bush reserve you wander. Within you will find plants at all different stages of there life cycles from newly sprouted seeds and saplings to mature trees of all different kinds and finally the grey decomposing remains of what were once magnificent trees, having dropped there seeds before passing on so that the next generation will grow in there place. Now their purpose is to provide nourishment to the earth as they break down and so it goes, on and on …. the cycle of life.

A bit contradictory to ‘The Green Man’ is the fact that at times we will be asked to remove trees completely! of course this is to be expected as some are no longer compatible with there environment for various reasons ….. This is not really in keeping with what the legend of ‘The Green Man’ is about though! …….

So …. We came up with an idea that we thought was pretty awesome!

We have found a local West Australian organisation that will plant trees on our behalf, they are ‘Carbon Positive Australia’ and we will be donating to them $250 every quarter ($1000 per year) This will enable them to plant around 268 native trees or shrubs over the course of a year.

We particularly wanted to support these guys because at the moment they are replanting ‘Eurardy Reserve’ in the Mid West of W.A which is not that far from home. This will be a 5 year project for them to replant 750 hectares with native seedlings ….. which in turn will grow into trees and ultimately a mature bush reserve, where the presence of ‘the Green Man’ and the cycle of life will once again be on display in all his glory ……

Phew! …… so that feels a little better!

As for our new logo! Having drawn up and created in watercolour and archival marker my own version of ‘The Green Man’ I have tried to captured the wild, fertile and abundant energy which is what this Lord of the Forrest is all about! …….
